Inland is not conducting IMEs 4/5-4/25
April 2nd 2020
Following is an open letter regarding Inland Medical's decision to suspend any scheduled IMEs at our locations from April 5 through April 25, 2020, due to coronavirus infection rates and exposure. Please note, if you are a worker scheduled for an exam between April 5 through April 25 it is being rescheduled and you will receive information about this from your claims manager. You are welcome to call us at 1-800-545-4715 with any questions you have.
April 1, 2020
Dear valued doctors, claims managers, and Department of Labor and Industries oversight:
After careful consideration of the social responsibility and potential health risk during Washington's COVID-19 pandemic, Inland Medical Evaluations is suspending all physical exams scheduled to occur between April 5, 2020, and April 25, 2020. Our scheduling department will contact you individually to reconcile any previously scheduled exams during this period.
We realize this is a great adjudicative and/or financial loss to you, but we are compelled to protect the health of our staff, physicians, and communities at large by reducing exposure risks in light of protective and sanitizing supply shortages, COVID-19 testing inaccessibility, the infection rate of this virus, and the presence of at-risk populations in our day-to-day clinic operations. At this point, the forecasted peak of infection in Washington state is April 15.
During this period, our corporate office will remain operational to complete outstanding reports, manage incoming addendum requests, and to facilitate the cancelations, scheduling and rescheduling of April, May, and June 2020 exam dates. It is our intent to reinstate exams in all our regional locations on April 27, 2020, pending any federal or state-issued orders.
The corporate office and ownership are maintaining standard business hours during this time to resolve cancelations and hear your concerns. We apologize for this disruption in your professional relationship with us from the bottoms of our hearts. It is our hope that in looking out for each other through the peak of infection, we can flatten the curve, preserve the health of those with whom we work, and do our part to mitigate this pandemic for the benefit of all.
Our most sincere thanks for your understanding,
Kathy Smith Melinda Smith
