Fall-Free Fall: Safety Tips

November 5th 2019

With Daylight Savings Time over and the evenings getting darker earlier, please take care while you're out adn about, whether working, commuting, or doing fall and winter home maintenance.

* If you haven't already, change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and keep both feet squarely on the ladder you use.

* Speaking of ladders, make sure you wear supportive shoes with laces when climbing them to take care of gutters or hang decorations, especially if it is wet, frosty, or snowy outside.

* Take care when walking on sidewalks and pathways around your home and work as fall leaves pile up. When wet, they can be slick.

* And last but not least, keep distance between you and the car in front of you on slick roads, foggy mornings, and dark conditions.

Intriguing idea for chronic pain management

October 1st 2019

NPR recently reported on the use of naltrexone to manage chronic pain without opioid use. Given the opioid addiction epidemic in Washington state and throughout the country, this development is intriguing and a kickstart for recent pilot studies. We've linked the story here for you:
